3 Stars of the Week (November 17-23)

3 Stars of the Week (November 17-23)

Treyton Frasz & Zach Koroluk

⭐⭐⭐ - Kian Knoll

Kian Knoll put together another strong week, contributing 2 goals and 1 assist over three games while bringing a physical edge to his play. Against the Quakers, he recorded a primary assist on the opening goal. Less than a minute later finding the back of the net for his thirteenth of the season to create a spark to comeback and win. He followed that performance with another goal against the Westleys, where he also played with noticeable physicality, battling hard in all areas of the ice. Knoll’s combination of skill and toughness made him a key impact player.

⭐⭐ -  Reid Bechard

Reid Bechard delivered a big week offensively, finishing with 4 goals and 1 assist over three strong performances. Against Moosomin, he picked up 1 goal and 1 assist, which was a key factor in the 7-1 win. He followed that up with a dominant showing against the Quakers, scoring a hat trick and completely shifting the momentum in the teams' favour. As well in both the Quakers and Westleys games, he came up clutch in the shootout scoring both times to open the shootout with the lead. Bechard’s energy, scoring touch, and ability to elevate his play in key moments made him a major difference-maker throughout the week.

⭐ - Anton Merzliakov

Anton Merzliakov delivered an exceptional week between the pipes, stopping an incredible 88 shots while allowing only 4 goals, showcasing both his skill and resilience. His stellar play translated to a save percentage of .957 throughout the three games. Additionally, Merzliakov recorded two shootout wins against the Quakers and Westleys; both clinched in the second round. Undoubtedly reflecting just how locked-in he was all week long.

Coming in relief to open the second period already down 4–0, Merzliakov shut the door, allowing just one goal the rest of the way and giving his team the chance to battle back. His calm presence and clutch saves carried the momentum as they pushed to tie the game and ultimately secure the win saving both in the shootout.

Merzliakov’s consistency, confidence, and ability to rise in high-pressure moments made him a game-changing force all week.
